Potemkin

In New York, usually when development comes to a neighborhood, it involves tearing down a whole row of smaller structures and replacing them with a giant structure, usually with a uniform facade. The result of which is to take a charming, or at least character infused street and replace it with a very bland and unwelcoming uniformity.

I’ve always wondered what it would look like if a batch of new buildings built purposefully in differing styles would look like. Apparently it would look like this scene in Jersey.

It’s mildly disturbing in it’s own way, apparently.

Reminds me of the set on Sesame Street.
